The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has stated the Coronaviruspandemic regarded as Coronavirus has turn out to beit’s nemesis in the Southeast markets.

The Association lamented yesterday that Igbo no longer patronise them the way they used to as a end result of COVID19

MACBAN’s Southeast Chairman, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, spoke with Correspondent in Awka, Anambra State, the Nation reports.

He stated the problem is no longer the herders and cCommunities again, however the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, which had brought about lockdown in the country.

Siddiki, stated the outbreak of the pandemic had stopped ceremonies such as burial, marriage ceremonies amongst others in Igbo land, the placethey make massive sales, in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

According to him, “the Coronavirus disease outbreak is significantly affecting our business, we no longer sell cows like we used to because people no longer have fun marriages and burials like before. These are some of the occasions that provide us sales.

“Again, cows have turn out to be pricey due to excessive price of transportation, our quantity of income has Come down down very much”.

He regretted that most of his participants had beennow not adhering to the regulations of social distancing, hand washing amongst others in spite ofrepeated sensitization

He entreated Muslims to relate harmoniously with anyone irrespective of the creed in the spirit of the lesson learnt at some point of the Ramadan.

However, he recommended the governors of the South-East and the people of the region for giving them the enabling environment to do their business.
