2022 Eid-ul-Fitr to be May 2nd, crescent moon not sighted anywhere in the world
Eid-ul-Fitr to fall on May 2nd in most countries where Ramadan started on April 2, according to the UAE-based International Astronomy Centre (IAC).

In a statement carried by UAE news agency Wam, IAC director Shawkat Odeh said it would be impossible to sight the crescent moon on April 30 as the moon will set before the sun.

Saudi Arabia Chief Astronomer Abdullah Khudairi said “The atmosphere is suitable for observing the crescent Shawwal 1443 but mathematically the moon will set before the sun, and this means that there is little to no chance for the crescent to be seen today”

Astronomer Mutaib Al-Barghash in Tumair said “Weather is clear and there is no obstruction in observation of the crescent, the sighting will continue until sunset”
