Popular Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has been arrested by the Lagos State police over a debt-related issue.
The singer was taken into custody on Tuesday after failing to pay a car dealer the balance of N14 million for a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon he purchased.
According to reports, Portable paid N13 million for the SUV, which is worth N27 million, but refused to pay the remaining balance.
Despite efforts by the car dealer to retrieve the debt, Portable failed to comply, leading the dealer to file a complaint with the police.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest, stating that Portable was arrested for deliberately refusing to pay the debt he owed.
