#BREAKING: FG to Consider Suspending of NYSC Camps For Two Tears Say Economy Led by VP Osinbajo
The Economic Sustainability Committee (ESC) led viaVice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on the federal authorities to reflect onconsideration onsuspending the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp exercises for two years.
In its document presented to President Muhammadu Buhari last week and viewed with the aid ofTheCable, the committee advocated the consideration of suspension of NYSC camps for 24 months.
“Practical steps will be taken to minimise disruption to learning, utilising technological know-how as appropriate. Specifically, digital mastering will be applied (either online or thru broadcast), digitalconvocation ceremonies or issuance of certificates (with postponed ceremonies) should be carried out to proceed instructional progression.
“The instant focal point in the Education quarter is to tackle the disruptions brought on via the pandemic and ensuing social distancing measures at all rangesof education,” the report read.
“In comparable context, consideration will be given to suspending the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp Exercises for at least 24 months while permitting deployment to locations of essential assignment.
“This will ensure that there is no backlog in the National Service placement pipeline.”
