In a bid to enhance the overall well-being and security of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has taken an unprecedented step by engaging a special intervention team led by the indefatigable and dynamic ACP Bayo Sulaiman. The objective? To clear the shanties that have encroached upon the Lagos Badagry Express.

The Special Intervention Team undertook the arduous task of clearing shanties which started from Orile corridor and expected to terminated at Igbo Elerin axis, a crucial step towards enhancing safety and urban development.

Engr. Ojo-Owuro Olasunkanmi, the Director of Transport, Ministry of Transportation, while speaking shared compelling insights with the press, shedding light on the unwavering commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In his conversation with the media, Director, Engr. Olasunkanmi underscored Governor Sanwo-Olu’s resolute dedication to transforming Lagos State’s transportation landscape. ACP Bayo Sulaiman, renowned for his unmatched energy, vibrancy, and dedication to maintaining order, was personally invited by the governor due to his outstanding track record in ensuring sanity across the sprawling metropolis during his tenure as Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force.

Traditionally, the primary responsibility of the Lagos Task Force and its Chairman is to maintain order and security throughout the vast expanse of Lagos metropolis. However, Governor Sanwo-Olu’s determination to further improve the state’s livability and security prompted him to call upon ACP Bayo Suleiman once again, acknowledging the unparalleled competence he brings to the table.

A significant chapter in ACP Suleiman’s illustrious career unfolded in 2002 when he was posted to Lagos. He began his journey in the heart of Lagos at the Lagos Government House during the tenure of the former Governor of Lagos State and the current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In 2005, ACP Bayo Sulaiman assumed the pivotal role of heading the Lagos State Police Task Force. This position was marked by a demonstrable commitment to law enforcement and remarkable operational prowess.

Under ACP Sulaiman’s vigilant leadership as Chairman of the Lagos Task Force, the notorious streets of Oshodi and Obalende were cleansed of nefarious activities and criminal elements. One of the most notable achievements during his tenure was the resolution of the longstanding issue of Aswani Market, which had a history of spilling onto Lagos roads every Tuesday for decades.
