CBN might extends old naira swap to June 1st as Emefiele meets Buhari at Villa for second time in two days
Few hours after the Supreme Court gave a temporary injunction restraining Federal Government from banning the use of the old naira notes from February 10th 2023

Rumours coming out from the outcome of the meeting between the Central Bank Governor, Emefiele and President Buhari had it that CBN has extend old Naira swap till June 1,2023.

Meanwhile, the CSO coordinator on CBN Cash Policy has criticized the ruling of the Supreme Court. According to him he said “We have suffered at the hands of the Supreme Court Justices in undermining any efforts for a credible election” – CSO Coordinator On CBN Cash Policy laments over the Supreme Court Ruling

Similarly, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has revealed what Kaduna traders and other residents should do with the old Naira notes.

“Stop changing your money and tell everyone to stop taking money to banks. If you sell anything, accept the old note if it’s given to you,” the Kaduna governor said.

Governor El-Rufai also spoke on Tinubu’s plan regarding the Naira redesign policy if elected.
