The Rt. Hon. Mrs Mary Onyinye Ugwu, Member, Enugu State House of Assembly representing Enugu South Rural Constituency and the Chairman House Committee on Gender Affairs & Social Development and Deputy Leader of ENHA, has totally condemned the killing of innocent Nigerians and vandalization of public and private properties in Enugu State.
The lawmaker disclosed this addressing during press briefing she said, The constitution of Nigeria allows citizens to engage in peaceful protest, and we observed it when people made certain demands from Federal Government to end SARS and attend to other challenges facing the citizens.
It’s indeed sad that some protesters lost their lives and we are hoping that their families will be consoled.
I urged the protesters to withdraw their swords especially now that it’s obvious that hoodlums have entered their midst.
I urged the protesters to desist from the vandalization of public and private properties in Enugu state because such act will take us back to serious hardship and severe underdevelopment.
Let’s adhere to the directive of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi because he has supported the youths so much and have included many youths in his administration. He was available when the protesters needed him and this reveals how much he love peaceful coexistence in Enugu state.
The good people of Enugu state especially my lovely constituency ( Enugu South Rural ), you are known for your patriotic and peaceful culture, please we need serious calmness in Enugu state, so we can collectively work to achieve our desired destiny in Enugu state and Nigeria.
