Enugu, Other States to Announce Date as FG Asks All Schools To Reopen From October 12
Matters Arising gathered that, the Federal Government of Nigeria has reportedly announced that all schools from primary level to tertiary institutions to reopen October 12 2020
After about six months of stemming and preventing the spread of Covid-19, which of course led to the closure of all schools and borders, the Federal government has today ordered the reopening of all schools in the country.
The minister of education, Adamu Adamu, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja.
He advised all institutions to obey and adhere to the guidelines for the reopening of schools, earlier announced by the presidential task force.
He said all unity schools should open by October 12 while state and private schools should determine their own modalities for reopening.
Meanwhile, the Enugu state government has recent opened schools for primary and secondary school students across the state and and engaging stakeholders in preparedness to reopen tertiary institutions across the state.
The Special Assistant to Enugu state Governor on student matters while speaking with Matters Arising correspondent during youth summit of Nigeria Polytechnics Student in Institute of Management and Technology IMT Enugu, He said, Enugu awaiting federal government order on schools resumption.
He disclosed that, the Enugu state government will announce the tertiary institutions across the state as soon as possible
