Igbo language now one of the languages to be taught and spoken at Oxford university.

There is no doubt that Igbo language Is gaining more grounds as one Mr Emmanuel Ikechukwu Umenyiora, has become the first Igbo lecturer to emerge at the university of Oxford UK, which means that Igbo language which is one of the most spoken languages in Nigeria, has now been adopted as a course in the prestigious university of Oxford.

On Twitter, Mr Emmanuel shared the delightful news as he wrote this “Our induction happened today by Marion Sadoux, Head of Modern Language Programmes, University of Oxford Language Centre.

This became possible in account of the James Currey Society. This is the first time Igbo language will be taught at the university. History has been made. I am so happy and grateful for this opportunity. I promise to make the Igbo language and culture known to the world.”

So a big congratulations to him and to the Igbo tribe for this massive achievement.
