IMT Enugu reverse hostel fee mandates as students protest illegal mandatory of hostel
The students of Institute of Management and Technology IMT Enugu has rejected the illegal mandatory of hostel fees in totality.

Matters Arising learnt that, at beginning of academic season the school management hike school fees by 100% i.e from ₦40,000 to ₦80,000.

The hostel said to be optional at sum of ₦40,000 is now mandatory at the sum of ₦45,000

Meanwhile, IMT Enugu Rector, Prof. Austin Uche Nweze while addressing the students protesters, he order immediate reversal of mandatory hostel fee, which means that hostel Fee payment is no longer Mandatory in the Institute.

The school statement reads;

Following the decision of the Governing Council of the Institute at its Continued 232-d (Regular) meeting held on 14′ April, 2022 where a decision was taken that every incoming student (ND I and HND I) admitted under 2021/2022 academic session should pay hostel fees and allocated a bed space in the Institute hostel, the Rector has directed that the payment of hostel fee is no longer compulsory but optional to students admitted under the 2021/2022 academic session.
