Insecurity:We Are Not God, Police Can’t Be Everywhere – IGP, Adamu
Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu on Monday stated the Police can’t be everywhere, at the same time.
Adamu cited this in Gombe during the stateinauguration of the Community Policing Advisory Committee, which will be co-chaired via the Emir of Gombe, Sheu Abubakar, and the state Police Commissioner, Maikudi Sheu.
The IGP, who was represented by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, in charge of Zone 3, Haliru Gwandu, stated there was no better time than now for neighborhood policing to commence.
He said, “I reflect onconsideration on this well timedand very crucial. The Nigeria Police Force has persevered to emphasise that whilst the police can’tbe everywhere, our communities are observedeverywhere. Consequently, safety and protection will be higher assured when and where contributors of the communities are actively concerned in crime prevention and community safety.
“Since the formal introduction of community policing strategy in 2004, NPF has made neighborhoodpolicing the cardinal focal point of environment friendly carrier delivery.”
He introduced that the rising crime style warranted the neighborhood policing approach which, in accordance to him, is citizen-centered.
On his part, Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, stated safety is extraordinarily vital noting that except it, anarchy will set in.
