Investigate video captured moment of collapse in Banana Island - Nigerians call on security agents
In the aftermath of the collapse of a 7-story building under construction in Banana Island on April 12, 2023, Nigerians have taken to social media to express their skepticism about the video footage that captured the moment of the incident.

They are urging security agents to conduct a forensic audit of the footage to ascertain its authenticity and to determine the cause of the collapse.

The video, which has been widely shared on social media, appears to have been recorded on a mobile phone. The individuals behind the camera are seen waiting patiently for the moment of collapse. The footage, which is 40 seconds long, shows the camera focused solely on the building site without any deviation.

Social media users have raised questions about the authenticity of the video, particularly the fact that the individuals recording it appear to be at least 600 to 700 meters away from the site of the incident. They wonder how someone at such a distance could be aware of what was about to happen while the workers on the building site were not.

Some commentators have gone so far as to suggest that the collapse may have been caused by a time bomb that had been planted at the site, and that the individuals behind the camera were waiting for the explosion to occur.

These allegations have yet to be confirmed, but they have added to the public’s sense of unease and suspicion about the incident.
