Presidency declares IPOB group, members as terrorists says they are not fighting for freedom
President Buhari has said the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, of unleashing terror in the South-East and parts of the South-South, describing them as thieves and terrorists.

He stressed that members of IPOB are not struggling for freedom when they attack police stations and property that they are rather committing acts of terrorism to steal money.

The presidency has described members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as terrorists.

The presidency in a statement on Sunday signed by the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu said the group and its members are responsible for acts of terrorism in the southeast region of the country.

It blamed them for the attacks on police stations and other residents in the region, adding that the group is only hiding under the umbrella of struggling for freedom to perpetrate its acts of terrorism.
