Proclaimed leader of IPOB, Simon Ekpa declares 25th of February Sit-At-Home

Simon Ekpa, the proclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has declared a sit-at-home protest in the South East region from February 24th to 28th to boycott the upcoming presidential election.

The aim of the boycott is to draw attention to the group’s grievances and their demand for the independence of the Biafran region.

Simon Ekpa stated that, “Come 25th February 2023, we’ll never validate Nigeria in Biafraland. We’ll never validate a country that has committed genocide against their own citizens.”

The announcement has elicited mixed reactions from the public, with some supporting the boycott as a means of making their voices heard, while others believe it is unproductive and will not achieve their desired outcome.

Simon Ekpa statements reads:

“It’s time we learn from our mistakes, Goodluck Jonathan, Obasanjo, Yaradua couldn’t change Nigeria, what makes you think Peter Obi, Atiku or Tinubu will do anything?”

“The same people shouting Peter Obi today were the same persons that told you in 2015 that Buhari is the Messiah”

“Nigeria is a country were the law court will decide and the government will say ‘NO’, electorates doesn’t decide who wins the election instead the court with fulani judges determine who wins and loses an election. We have seen it in Imo State and Osun State. On this note, we have decided that the 2023 Nigeria election can never ever take place in Biafra territory.”

I want to remind you that during the apartheid in South Africa, the Soweto South Africa youths boycotted schools and even boycotted election, it was after the Soweto uprising that the world joined them and the rest was history. And I want to tell you that we are already there, after the 25th of February the world will join Biafra.

I want to share the news to the Biafra people about the first International interview I granted today which lasted for about 4 – 5 hours and it’s indeed a ground breaking interview which is going to be in the media in few days time. I will not mention the media house at this point but I want everybody to wait and watch the interview, we’ll stream it once it is out

It was very successful and those that came to interview me now understand Nigeria better and also understand Biafra plight and going forward they’ll be pushing for the interest of those who have fallen victim of this eviI entity

I will like to recognise and appreciate Ikenga Imo for his persistent call for the release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu and I want him to be very strong regardless of the threat coming from Imo State fulani administrator even though Ikenga Imo is running for Nigeria Election that is not going to hold

I want to appreciate Governor soludo for calling for the release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu and lifting the heavy tax he placed on Anambra people. I called on you to review the tax and you listened to that but that doesn’t mean I’m validating whatever you are doing in Nigeria because nothing has changed, no road, no hospital, no security.

And the third person is Reverend father Mbaka, I commend him for calling for the release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu despite the threats

The only election we’ll allow in Biafra territory is referendum and in other to achieve the stopping of Nigeria election in Biafraland we’re going to implement the following mechanisms:

There will be imposition of curfew from 6PM to 6AM on 24th and 25th of February 2023 in all federal roads in Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu State. The curfew will take place in towns like Okigwe, Owerri, Orlu, Abakaliki and Enugu metropolis

I want Biafrans to understand that on this days mentioned it will be open wår between Biafra and Nigeria and the Nigeria election will be banned in Abakaliki, Afikpo, Enugu, Owerri, Aba, Umuahia, Onitsha, Awka, Warri, Agbo, Yenegoa, Degema, Igweocha, Eket, Uyo, Calabar, Auchi, Benin, Idoma, Igala, etc

According to our Intels, from the 15th of February 2023 Nigeria will be under very serious chaotic situation and we are calling on all Biafrans to be very careful and watchful especially Ndi Igbo in Lagos and in other parts of Nigeria

The Biafra Government in Exile has activated the Media and Communication department, transportation department, Oil and Gas department and Architectural department

Finally, I want to make it clear that the only option and condition that will make us reconsider the sit at home is the unconditional release of Maazi Nnamdi Kanu

I want to assure Biafrans that we have achieved a lot that are mind blowing. We are now 25 days to Biafra, you’ll sleep in Nigeria and wake up in Biafra.

It is important to note that the Nigerian government has previously declared IPOB as an illegal organization and has taken measures to clamp down on their activities.

Despite this, the group continues to gain support from certain segments of the population, highlighting the deep-rooted issues and concerns that need to be addressed by the government in order to promote peace and stability in the region.
