The mother of Whitney Adeniran, a student at Chrisland School in Lagos, Nigeria, has reached out for help following the devastating loss of her daughter.
According to Whitney’s father, he said she was a healthy young girl who attended a school inter-house sports event on Thursday, February 9th, 2023. Her mother dressed up and went to the event, eager to cheer her daughter on, only to find that Whitney was nowhere to be seen among the participating students.
When she asked around, a student informed her that Whitney had been rushed out in the school bus. Alarmed, Whitney’s mother immediately began to look for answers. She approached a group of students who were gathered together and upon seeing her, a student showed her Whitney’s picture and told her that Whitney was the one who had been rushed out.
Whitney’s mother quickly located a teacher and asked about her daughter’s condition. The teacher told her that Whitney had “slumped.”
Whitney’s mother called her husband, Michael Adeyemi Adeniran, to inform him of the situation and he rushed to the health center where Whitney had been taken. When he arrived, he was shocked and devastated to find his daughter’s body lying lifeless on the ground. Her eyes, lips, and face had already turned dark and she had passed away in less than an hour after being rushed out of the school.
Michael asked the nurse who had been called to check on Whitney while she was still at the school what had happened, but the nurse hesitated and told Michael that Whitney was already dead when she arrived. The school nurse explained that she could not pronounce Whitney dead because she was not a doctor and that was why Whitney was taken to the health center instead.
Michael was filled with anger and frustration as he realized that his daughter had died due to the negligence and incompetence of the staff at Chrisland School.
He has since been seeking answers from the school, but they have been uncooperative and maintain that they do not know what happened to Whitney and that she simply “slumped and died.” Michael has paid a significant amount of money for his daughter’s education at Chrisland School and is deeply concerned that the school did not have proper first aid measures in place during the inter-house sports event, which could have saved Whitney’s life.
The Statement reads;
My name is Micheal Adeyemi Adeniran. This is me coming out to seek help of dignitaries and those that have power to help me and not let the death of my daughter (Whitney Adeniran) go just like that.
It happened that my daughter attend CHRISLAND HIGH SCHOOL And it was their inter-house sport event yesterday(Thursday 9TH, FEB 2023) and she dressed up from home, healthy with no health conditions or sickness at all, the school bus came to pick her up to the venue of the event at Agege stadium, so my wife alter dressed up and went to attend the event, when she get there she noticed she didn’t see her daughter in the midst of the student that’s matching or partaking in the activities then she begin to look for her,
asking the students and teachers about her and then she noticed a gathering of students surrounding themselves like something is going on so she walk towards the place to asked about her daughter but while she was walking down to the place she noticed the school bus took speed out of the school and she was still complaining that why will the bus speed out like that where there are many students, but when she get there and show a student her daughter’s picture that she’s looking for her
then the student said she’s the one that’s been rushed out now in the school bus, then she had to quickly locate a teacher and asked what happened and she was told she slumped, she called me immediately and told me they said my daughter slumped and they’ve taken her to the hospital that I should be coming right away while she head to the hospital, while getting to where they took her to, it’s an health center, their excuse was because of traffic to get to the hospital they had to take her to health center and they told my wife that our daughter is dead,
I got there myself and I was asking questions they couldn’t answer me, because I saw her body down, the eyes, lips and face is already dark in less than an hour, then I faced the nurse that they called while she was still in school to check her, I asked her what happened she said to be sincere by the time she gets to the school she’s already dead but she couldn’t pronounce her dead because she’s not a doctor that’s why she allowed them to bring her to the health center first and since then I’ve been asking Chrisland school to tell me what happened to my daughter, but they are saying they don’t know, she just slumped and died,
Ahhhhh please come to my aid ,this need to be the last time Chrisland staffs will kill a child because of their negligence and incompetence, I paid heavily in this school and they couldn’t get a first aid on stand by for their inter-house or pay proper attention to the students.
Whitney father is now reaching out to dignitaries and those with the power to help his get to the bottom of what happened to her daughter. He wants to ensure that this tragedy is not repeated at Chrisland School and that proper measures are put in place to protect the health and well-being of the students.
No parent should have to endure the heartbreak of losing a child and Michael is determined to get justice for Whitney and prevent any other families from experiencing the same pain and loss.
