Sadio Mane believes Robert Lewandowski is “one of the best” strikers

Sadio Mane believes Robert Lewandowski is “one of the best” strikers in the world, but he refuses to discuss his future at Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, with the striker looking for a new challenge after eight seasons at Sabenerstrasse and 12 in the Bundesliga overall.

Mane arrives at Bayern this off-season in similar circumstances, having left Liverpool with a year left on his contract after six seasons at the club, helping them win the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League, as well as the African Cup of Nations with Senegal in 2021.

Mane stated in an interview with BILD that he did not want to get involved in any unnecessary drama.

Clearly, Robert Lewandowski is one of the world’s best strikers “Mane stated. “However, I’m not the right person to speculate on his future or to advise the club on what to do now.”

The 30-year-old admitted to following Bayern Munich last season, lamenting their Champions League exit at the hands of Villarreal despite dominating play, and comparing it to Liverpool’s own exit in the 2019-20 season.

Mane also insisted that with his assistance, the reigning Bundesliga champions’ European season will be improved.

“Of course, I watched the games. Bayern tried everything, but they were unable to perform at their peak “He stated.

“That feeling is all too familiar to me; it was how we felt against Atletico Madrid at Liverpool. But I promise you that next season will be different. I’m here now, and we’ll give it our all.

“We must be convinced that we are capable of accomplishing anything. And, based on the quality of this team, I believe it is one of the best in Europe.”
