Lates hour yesterday 16th of October, there is a trending video of bulldozer demolishing a plaza at Lobito crescent Abuja while people’s goods are inside.

Below is the true story behind the demolition

Matters Arising learnt that, the Federal Capital Territory, FCTA earlier informed the owner of the plaza that the ground floor of the plaza is meant to be a car park so as not to cause any traffic congestion outside the plaza and he agreed.

According to the report made available to Matters Arising, reported that few months after that, he converted the ground floor to shops and collected rent from people.

When FCTA noticed that, when to the place and served him notice to change it back to car park or it will be demolished. He refused. They marked the ground floor for demolition. Since then, the owner Of the plaza refused to comply.

FCTA came with bulldozer and demolished only the ground floor which is meant to be car park. They neither demolished the entire plaza nor touched the pillars.

The plaza is still intact and there was no goods at the ground floor as the occupants have already packed all their goods before demolition.

Do not be quick to believe whatever you see on social media. Some Nigerians are terrible liars and stubborn people. Informant said
