Why Elon Musk seeks NCC’s approval to Starlink satellite broadband in Nigeria
American space company, Space X express interest to obtain a licence to operate the satellite internet in the country,

Space X have express interest to bring in Starlink internet satellite into Nigeria.
The company have entered an advance Discussion with the Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC to ensure a successful technology project.

Starlink access director for Africa Ryan Goodnight along with SpaceX consultant, Levin Born paid a visit to the NCC where they express their interest to get a licence to operate the internet satellite in the Country.

Elon Musk has identified Nigeria as an important market in Africa and would like to put a huge presence in the Country.

The NCC executive vice-chairman Prof Umar Danbatta represented by Executive Commissioner Ubale Maska promised them the NCC would work on necessary conditions to ensure it balances a healthy Competition via the entry of a new Technology in other to protect industrial stakeholders.

Maska said “We have listened to your presentation and we will review it” Maska also said the commission is interested in taking the necessary effort to drive Coverage to ruler, underserved, and unserved areas in the Country.
