It’s True Chinese Supermarket in Abuja Restricts Nigerians From Shopping – FCCPC Confirms

In a concerning revelation, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has confirmed that all products in an Abuja Chinese Supermarket were exclusively labeled in Chinese Yuan, with transactions restricted to the same currency.

Moreover, reports indicated that only Chinese nationals were allowed to shop in the market, raising significant questions about discrimination and fair competition.

The FCCPC’s validation of these allegations indicates the gravity of the situation, signaling a blatant disregard for local regulations and consumer rights.

To address this, the commission has announced severe penalties for the offending parties. Each owner faces a staggering ₦10 million fine, accompanied by an additional sanction of 10% of their turnover.
