Lagos Government to Allocates Affordable Housing for 698 Civil Servants

The Lagos State government has announced plans to allocate homes to 698 civil servants through a ballot system. This was revealed by the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, during the 2024 ministerial press briefing at Alausa, Ikeja.

According to the commissioner, the selected workers will receive a 40% rebate on their mortgage payments over their service lifetime. To ensure transparency and fairness, the allocation process will be observed by independent observers.

The homes will be allocated in various locations, including Idale in Badagry Division and LagosHOM Odo-Onosa/Ayandelu in Epe-Division, with the allocation process scheduled for June 4.

The Lagos State Mortgage Board has pre-qualified 950 applicants for home unit allocation under various schemes. These include 400 applicants for LagosHOMS, Ajara, Badagry, 450 for LagosHS, Odo-Onosa/Ayandelu, and 100 for the Lagos State public affordable housing scheme, Idale Badagry.

This initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to provide affordable housing for its civil servants and promote transparency in the allocation process.
